New webinar on preventing involuntary exits from THP-Plus
Please join us and our co-hosts Bay Area Legal Aid and Public Counsel for the webinar “Advocacy Strategies for Preventing Involuntary Exits from Transitional Housing Program-Plus (THP-Plus)” on December 15th at 1:30pm PST. This interactive webinar will provide an overview of our recent THP-Plus advocacy guide and then discuss practice scenarios with Bay Area Legal Aid’s Henrissa Bassey and Public Counsel’s Rachel Stein, who will share the strategies that they have used to prevent homelessness among their young adult clients. This webinar has also been approved for 1.5 CLE credits for California attorneys.

In THP-Plus, a transitional housing program for young adults who have exited foster care, a quarter of youth who leave the program early do so involuntarily. The advocacy guide provides a roadmap for youth, attorneys, and advocates to prevent the root causes of these involuntary exits and to ensure that all of the applicable laws are followed when an exit does occur.
