12/6/2024 Fresno Man Honored For Improving Foster Care Services
The Quality Parenting Initiative (QPI) of the Youth Law Center recognized a Fresno man as a 2024 Elevate and Celebrate honoree for his dedication to foster care advocacy for more than a decade, the Youth Law Center announced Friday.
Patrick Rose of Fresno was one of the six people around the country to be recognized for being an “outstanding advocate for improving child welfare services,” according to the Youth Law Center.
Rose and his wife Miriam have been foster parents for 12 years. Officials say their journey began when Miriam, a police officer with the Fresno Police Department, was moved to do something after responding to child abuse and neglect cases in her community. At the time, Rose was a stay-at-home dad providing special care to their son.
